Magnetics Ferrite Pot Cores
This core’s shape is optimal for adjusting the ferrite structure to meet very specific application requirements. Pot core designs provide an optimal ratio of volume to surface area, creating the opportunity for maximum inductance with minimal space and fewer hot spots than with other core designs. Pot cores offer good temperature stability, and their unique geometry protects from stray magnetic fields or effects from other surrounding circuit elements.
Magnetics Ferrite Uncoated Toroid Cores
The uniform cross-sectional area of ferrite toroids eliminates any air gaps and creates the optimal features for designs that require high magnetic efficiency. Outside diameters of Magnetics ferrite toroids range from 2 mm to 140 mm, and permeabilities range from 900µ to 15,000µ. Magnetics’ high permeability ferrite toroids are typical for use in common mode chokes, EMI filters, broadband transformers, pulse transformers and current transformers. These cores are uncoated, and applying your own various coatings will determine winding ease and voltage breakdown. Magnetics ferrite toroids are available in nine materials: L, R, P, F, T, J, W, C and M.
Magnetics Ferrite E Core
Ferrite E cores are a less expensive alternative to pot cores. They can be pressed into different thicknesses to adjust the cross-sectional area, and are easy to assemble and wind. They can be mounted in different directions and can be used for low profile mounting. Unlike pot cores, however, E cores do not self-shield. Magnetics ferrite E cores are available in E65, E80 and E100 sizes. E cores are most commonly used for differential, power and telecom inductors, as well as broadband, power, converter and inverter transformers.
